Worship that touches the heart of God

Worship that touches the heart of God

What really did the Lord mean when He said that John 4: 22 "You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

The worship that pleases and touches the heart of the Lord, is one that is done in Spirit and truth. The Lord has always longed for true worshippers whose hearts are totally sold out to matters the Lord.

Worshipping the Lord is not all about going to church or external appearance. It’s true that you could sit in the church and interact with people, and even quote scriptures thinking you are on the right track headed to heaven but yet far from God. The Lord in the book of Isaiah talks of worshippers who give Him lip service, yet their hearts are far from Him.

13The Lord says:

“These people come near to me with their mouth

and honor me with their lips,

but their hearts are far from me.

Their worship of me

is based on merely human rules they have been taught. b

Elsewhere He says that on the day of reckoning, some will come crying that in the name of the Lord they performed miracles and even did wonders yet the Lord shuts them out and says, “truly I tell you, I don’t know you”. The worship that touches the heart of God is one done in Holiness and absolute Righteousness. Brokenness must be centered and true repentance and turning away from sin is fundamental.

The Lord does not desire sacrifices without Holiness. What matters to Him is Holiness. Sin has entered the church and corrupted worshippers. Today, many Christians worship in modernity and liberalism and are focused on prosperity, treating people based on how loaded their pockets are and contributing to church activities and charity works minus Holiness.

The Lord considers all these sacrifices as lame sacrifices and is clear in His word when He says in the book of Malachi 1;

 8When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.

9“Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?”—says the Lord Almighty.

10“Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you,” says the Lord Almighty, “and I will accept no offering from your hands. 11My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty.

Always endeavor to please the Lord by being Holy and righteous in your heart, then accompany this with the Holy works, be filled with the Holy Spirit, who is the Mighty Helper that will guide you towards the Kingdom of God, for without Holiness, nobody will see the Lord.
